During the time, wccftech had this to say in a post, copied below
Xiaomi is going to be releasing two laptop models that will be available to purchase in not one, but two Intel processor models; Core i5 and Core i7. Previously, we believed that in order to maintain the notebook’s affordability while keeping a healthy profit margin, Xiaomi would resort to incorporating smartphone SoCs, but it looks like the rising Chinese smartphone OEM is going the extra mile by incorporating Intel’s mobile processors.
The leak did not care to state which processor family is coming with the latest gadget, but we are pretty confident that both Core i5 and Core i7 will belong to Intel’s 14nm Skylake lineup of mobile processors. The only question is, which model is the company looking to incorporate it is upcoming mobile machine. According to what we posted previously, Xiaomi, with the help of Inventec, is going to begin producing notebooks from 2016, and they will rival Apple’s MacBook lineup in terms of their overall thickness.
The interesting about the news is that almost of review then are seems to be true, with the specifications released yesterday, though not official, but we can say Xiaomi notebook is already a dream rather what it was some ten months ago.
The new leak exposed that there will actuall be a 12.5-inch Xiaomi Notebook which will also feature a 1080p resolution Full HD screen. However, according to Benchlife, the display is not a touchscreen display.
In the configuration aspect, the Mi Notebook will be powered by low-power Intel Skylake-U series processors. The higher version which will also sport the larger size, uses Core i7-6500U (four threads 2.5-3.1GHz / HD 520 / TDP 15W), with 8GB of RAM, and run on Windows 10 operating system. The charging port is said to be similar to Huawei MateBook laptop’s USB Type-C type port. The maximum power of the charger is 65W (20V / 3.25A).
Also revealed are two new patents for the Xiaomi Notebook, an intelligent charging adapter and a thermal processing apparatus.
What To Expect From Xiaomi Notebook
According to sources, the new line of notebook from Xiaomi will feature a 11-inch as well as a 13-inch variant. The specifications of one of the laptops have been leaked, which includes the latest Intel 6th-generation Core i7-6500 CPU with 8GB of RAM running on Windows 10. There is also a speculation that both the laptops will feature similar hardware, but the 13-inch variant will offer a wider range of I/O ports. Oh and don’t expect a touchscreen in either of the machines.
You can however expect a USB Type-C port, which is slowly appearing in a number of laptops ever since Apple introduced it on the super slim 12-inch MacBook. The new I/O port not only transfers data faster than USB 3.0 but can also charge devices faster delivering up to 100 watts of power.
Sources claim that Xiaomi is all set to showcase the two new notebooks on 27 July the same day as the Mi Note 2, but since all of the information is all rumor, you should probably keep your hopes under control
