Its front camera is located at the bottom of the screen towards the right. The rear is home to the rear camera which is located in the top quadrant of the smartphone’s rear. The fingerprint sensor comes under the rear camera, and a LED flash is seen to appear on the right hand side of the rear camera. The smartphone has two editions – a Standard edition and the Special edition. The Standard edition has the dimensions 151.8 x 75.5 x 7.7 mm (Length x Width x thickness). Its thickness makes it very portable in the hand. It has a weight of 185g which makes it have a light nature. Its body design is the ceramic body design with aluminium frame. On the other hand, the special edition has the dimensions 150.5 x 74.6 x 7.7 mm. The only similarity in the dimension is the 7 mm thickness. The special edition is 2g heavier than the Standard edition. It has a complete ceramic body design unlike the standard edition. The two variants have two colour variants which are Black and White. I almost that was Black and yellow, you remember that song, right?
The camera unit of this smartphone is excellent. It sports a 12MP camera at the rear. The 12MP camera uses the Sony IMX386 sensor. Well, Sony and Samsung have got the big guns when it comes to smartphone cameras. Its either an OEM makes use of Sony or they make use of Samsung’s sensor or they go for the two. You know Apple isn’t in the category of those that go for others sensors, right? I’m sure you do. The rear camera has features such as the f/2.0 aperture, 1/2.9″ sensor size, 1.25 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, phase detection autofocus, face detection, HDR and panorama. Oh oh, such a rich camera portfolio. The rear camera also utilizes the OIS 4-axis which denotes for Optical Image Stabilisation. The camera snaps brilliant pictures and uses 4K video recording. The camera records videos at 2160p, 1080p and 720p. The front camera of the smartphone which appears at the bottom region of the smartphone’s screen has a 5MP sensor that captures nice selfies and records fine videos at 1080p@30fps.
The smartphone’s processor is a gem. Not only does the smartphone use the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, it uses the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, which is the Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835. The processing of operations on the smart device is handled by the Kryo processor that comes with 8 cores, that is, octa core. Four of the cores run at a super processor speed of 2.45GHz while the other four run at a processor speed of 1.9GHz. For the graphics of the smartphone, the Adreno 540 GPU is utilized.
OPERATING SYSTEM (OS)
The operating system of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is the out of box Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. This gives the smartphone the split-screen functionality that comes with the Nougat OS. The user interface on the smartphone, which is based on the Android OS is the latest MIUI version – the MIUI9.
The memory category is split into the RAM and the internal storage. The smartphone has two variants when the RAM is considered. The RAMs in which the smartphone comes in are the 6GB RAM and the 8GB RAM. There’s a twist in the internal storage variants. The 6GB RAM smartphone has three internal storage variants which are 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. These internal storage are all massive and they have the capacity to withhold files such as music, videos, documents and photos in very large quantities. The 8GB smartphone only has one internal storage capacity, and that is the largest of the 6GB’s variant – 256GB. Storage of music, videos, photos and documents just got better. Just like an iPhone, the smartphone uses no micro SD card slot. This simply means the internal storage of the smartphone is not expandable. Oh no, I feel like tears want to drop.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The smartphone was announced and released on the 11th September 2017. Its price is 500 euros. If the smartphone gets to Nigeria, the smartphone’s price range of the smartphone should fall between NGN 200,000 and NGN250,000. That’s why I said it’s one of the cons of the smartphone. However, considering the specifications of the smartphone, the price isn’t too bad either.
