First it was Ulefone Power, a middle-range smartphone from Ulefone with extra battery power endurance. The smartphone was launched in December 2015 and it is upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the future. One remarkable thing about this one was the 6050 mAh battery power it possessed and also its fast charging – exclusive I must say.
Well now, it is a different one entirely and Ulefone has brought to us a new one to deal with and its called the Ulefone U008 Pro.
If we are to take Ulefone’s word for it, we would say they are “one of the biggest manufacturers of high-quality mobile devices and accessories in China” and the “best mobile company in the world”. I would like to take an exception to that last quote though, but maybe you’d find out for yourselves as we go through with the specs and review.
As tradition demands, phones have predecessors and successors and for this, the Ulefone U008 Pro is a successor to the previously released U007 Pro. Let’s see what this Ulefone specie has in store for its users or maybe potential ones like you.
The Ulefone U008 Pro comes with a premium metal unibody design (HTC comes to mind), with curved edges to give it a unique look and better grip.
The Ulefone U008 Pro comes in a metal body design with slightly curved edges and sports a 5.0-inch HD IPS capacitive display with a resolution of 1280 * 720 pixels. The phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for its screen protection.
The Ulefone U008 Pro smartphone is powered by 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6737 with Mali T720 GPU. The phone packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage that can be expanded to 128GB via microSD card.
The Ulefone U008 Pro boasts of an 8MP camera (interpolated to 13MP camera) with LED flash. As for the front camera, it sports 5MP camera for selfies and video calls.
If I were a judge in this case which I am, I’ll rate this one ‘not too good’. I just got a hint that the upcoming Nokia phones would be possessing a whooping 18MP, so to me, 8MP isn’t too good enough.
The Ulefone U008 Pro runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and the smartphone packs 3,500mAh removable Li-Ion battery that delivers up to 360 hours of standby.
The phone measures 148.2 mm x 72.8 mm x 9.5 mm and weighs 170 grammes. The Ulefone U008 Pro is a dual SIM based that features an array of sensors like Gravity Sensor, Touch Sensor, Proximity sensor, light sensor and a fingerprint sensor that is located in the home button. The Ulefone U008 pro can connect via Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, micro-USB v2.0, 3G and 4G VoLTE.
Ulefone U008 Pro has in its possession a Li-on battery with a 3500 may. It is a non removable battery and could charge using ‘fast charge’ while its power management is by Marshmallow’s battery saving mode.
Well, in this case, this Ulefone U008 Pro could pass as a medium range phone as it currently sells in the following countries thus;
₦55,860 in Nigeria, KSh. 13,603 in Kenya, GH₵555 in Ghana, Rs. 5,999 in India, ¥925.6 in China, $133 in the united states, £106.5 in UK and €127.3 in Europe.
