With recent Samsung’s encounter in the smartphone industry in 2016, I’m pretty sure they’ll be planning something big and hopefully, special for 2017. This year was a year of ups and downs for the company, the most notable ‘down’ moment being the Note 7 debacle where they had no choice then to recall over 90% of the smartphone from the market to prevent further explosions.
It had seemed to us a long time ago that Samsung has moved on from that, though still making findings and investigations on how those explosions came about. Its like they are onto the next one.
2017 is almost upon us and according to reports, Samsung would be releasing the Samsung galaxy J3 Emerge, which is a variant of Samsung galaxy J3 (2017) and also yet to be released.
In this post, we would be taking a ride through the specifications of the galaxy J3 Emerge. You don’t know what to do? Just stay with me.
TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN
Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge runs on the android 6.0 marshmallow. It possesses dual Sim and supports the 4G LTE network. The rate at which new smartphones are adopting the 4G network is very impressive, though it is expected of Samsung to deliver in such aspects. No offense but much might not be required of other smartphone brands like infinix and their cohorts.
The device is a 5-inch phone, it measures 1280 * 720 pixels HD, and possesses the IPS Capacitive touchscreen. With the look of things, this device would be made with plastic with metal trimmings, even though personally, I prefer an all-metal phone.
Speaking of the device’s hardware, it possesses a 2GB Random Access Memory. Its internal storage is 16GB but can be expanded up to 128GB with the use of a Micro SDcard. But to me, I still think a 2GB RAM is poor, not generally but for a brand like Samsung Mobile.
The processor name is 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430, and sensors available are the Accelerometer, Light, Proximity Sensor. And NO.. It does not have a fingerprint sensor.
Now, for the selfie freaks, they might not be too impressed with this one as it has a 5MP rear camera with a 2MP front camera. It has a LED flash too. With these low camera quality, the smartphone might be a low or middle range device after all.
MULTIMEDIA AND CONNECTIVITY
The phone supports AAC, AMR, MP2, MP3, M4A, MKA in terms of music, and MP4/MPEG4/H.263/H.264 player for videos. It runs a Bluetooth v4.1, has GPS with A-GPS & GLONASS. Guess what? It has the 3.5mm audio jack.
In this device is a non-removable Li-on battery measuring 2600mAh, and it supports fast charging. The power management has been championed by Marshmallow’s Battery Saving mode.
You see, no matter how whack or splendid a phone is, you can draw people’s interest or lose it once the battery isn’t good. To me, the battery of the Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge is definitely below par, with a mere 2600mAh.
The price have not yet been released but with the specs we just saw up there, we want to believe it is a mid-range smartphone. Be sure that we will update this post once the price has been released.
If I were to tag a price on it, I’d say between N35,000 – N50,000
