Pokémon Use Private Home as Gym
Boon Sheridan is a resident of Massachusetts, a town known more for the presence of a prestigious University. If he were a superstition man, he would have thought the presence of so many people walking around his yard starring at their phones were folks involved in some arcane rituals.
Thing is, his home is an old church deconsecrated and remodeled into an apartment. But Sheridan wasn’t superstitious, so he investigated and found out Niantic Labs had placed a Pokémon Go training gym right in his backyard.
Here is what he wrote on Twitter about the incident:
Living in an old church means many things. Today it means my house is a Pokémon Go gym. This should be fascinating.”
Pokémon is Definitely not ISIS
Everybody knows that ISIS is a terrorist group doing despicable things in the middle east. That is one reason why there is a large contingent of US soldiers in the Middle East now.
Their Mission: to fight and kill as many ISIS fighters as possible. So when a Pokémon appeared right in front of a US soldier’s machine gun. He did what people do these days. He captured the Pokémon.
However, he would have preferred what he captured to be an ISIS man though. After all, that is why the US government has spent a lot of money to put him and his colleagues in Iraq.
“Just caught my first pokemon on the Mosul front line by Teleskuf,” he said in a post that went viral according to The Verge
But hey, why not have a little fun in between fighting the real life bad guys? But guys, is it fair that Pokémon Go had launched in Iran while we, in peaceful Nigeria are yet to get a sniff of the game?
Pokémon-assisted Birth Delivery
It is stories like this that really underlines how addictive the game is.
A Texan known as Jonathan Theriot was at the hospital to be a bulwark of support to his wife who was in labor. Apparently, the pains his wife was going through did not stop him from playing the game.
And suddenly, a Pokémon appeared on his wife bed as if it knew the woman needed a lot of assistance since the negligent husband had more use for an AR game.
Anyway, Theriot was very excited at the sight of the Pokémon on his wife. His wife apparently was not angry at him. Maybe, that was because she had more important things to think of at that moment. I am sure he got an earful from her when they got home.
This is what he excitedly told Buzzfeed about the incident:
She wasn’t mad at all. She just kind of laughed at it. It was primarily an eye roll once she realized what I was doing.”
Pokémon Ignites Battle Between Church and Gay Activist
I guess only a Pokémon can manage to be on both sides of the gay/anti-gay ideological divide while still being loved by both sides.
The story goes like this: the Westboro Baptist Church is known for its strong anti-gay stance and popular for preaching strongly and publicly against gays and lesbians.
When a user found a Pokémon Go training Gym in the church, he decided to taunt the Church by training a Pokémon in the church. The taunt is that he named the Pokémon LoveisLove which the church did not find funny.
The battle line was drawn. The church downloaded the game and recruited a Pokémon named JigglyPuff to help them take back the church from LoveisLove. Here is the church’s tweet about the incident:
We recruited Jigglypuff to deal with the sodomite loveislove Clefairy for us,”
These are just some of the weirdest stories associated with Pokémon Go so far. And the game is not even up to a month old. More weird stories would surely surface in the coming days.
