In the smartphone industry the name Orbra might not particularly ring a bell or elicit the classic “butterfly in my stomach” feeling, but it’s definitely a brand to watch. Yes it may not be as high end as Apple’s IPhones, as secure as Research In Motion’s BlackBerry or as Cheap as the Tecno bran, yet it offers a reliable alternative to any smartphone in it class. Enough of the word play. For the not so current readers, Orbra is Nigerian smartphone manufacturer. They manafucture high end smartphones targeted at the bourgeoning middle class with emphasis on quality and of course good specifications. Now that’s not really news, the good news is that the company is about to unveil its new device: The Orbra Eve 2.

Founded in 2009 by a Ngerian, Ololade Otayemi, the company is releasing alongside the Orbra Eve 2 smarphone three other devices, the Orbra Avalanche smarphone, the Orbra Inferno 2 Tab and the Orbra Bracelet on October first. Talk about a “patriotic coincidence”, the classy devices will be released just in time for Nigeria’s Independent Day celebration. Feeling patriotic? I guess the best way to prove it may as wel be geting a Nigerian made smartphone on Independent day. However, I for one will never get a device with unknown specifications and I believe most readers will take my stance on this.
