A major interest and attraction of mobile phone users in Nigeria is the dual sim capability for a variety of reasons ranging from network availability, preferred network plans in terms call, sms or data packages, diversified contact numbers, contact portability and lots more.
As a result of this based on a report, Nigeria had the highest number of dual-SIM phones in Africa. Putting things into perspective, Nigeria commanded a 49% market share in Q2 2017.
As at the end of June 2017, there were nearly 140 million “active lines” in Nigeria’s mobile market with a near definitive statement that at least two-thirds of those active lines are shared by a single user. This is not to say that they all had interests or motives but that some of it could really just be the accustomed tradition of owning multiple lines.
It’s not surprising anyway that dual SIM phones are most in demand and use in Nigeria, making dual SIM Phone manufacturing companies highly popular and putting them in good business.
