In fact it is the first flagship phone to be announced by the company since the Chinese company Lenovo bought Motorola from Google last year October. Will the Moto X Style be as successful? Lenovo is banking on that. Surely, because the amazing high specs combined with a relative low price of $400 shows intent to steal a lot of customers from the major OEMs. At that price even the OnePlus 2 will be a bit concerned that the Moto X Style might steal it’s thunder.

Let’s take a look at some of the important specifications of the Moto X Style. For full specifications you can  go here to read further.

Screen and Display
The design of the smart phone is different to other smart phones the Moto X Style will be competing with. The obvious difference is the screen which stretches across the whole face of the smart phone which gives it a curvy look like the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. The back cover is also curvy which ensures the phone fits moto x style2nicely into the palms of your hand. The phone sports a size-able 5.7 inch Quad HD display.

That is very impressive anyhow you compare this display to other smartphones. So with the 21 megapixel camera, photos and videos shot with this phone would be nothing short of amazing. The one thing missing from it is the lack of a fingerprint scanner on the display. As if to compensate consumers for the lack of the fingerprint scanner, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass series 3.

Processor, Performance and Chipset
This is the season of the lollipop. The Moto X Style in keeping with the fashion has the Android 5.1.1, the latest lollipop, powered by a quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex- A53 CPU with a an Areno 418 GPU all hosted on Qualcolm’s Snapdragon 808 chipset. There is also a 1.8 GHz CPU available. I wonder why they did not use a single CPU for all the models? All things being equal, the combination of Qualcomm’s 8 series chipset and that CPU is meant to ensure a stress-free smartphone experience.

Memory and storage
This is one place the OnePlus 2 has a slight edge over the Moto X style. The Moto X style comes with 3 GB of RAM, 1 less than the OnePlus 2. But even at 3GB, that is sufficient memory to handle any kind of app. Almost all the latest flagships came with the same memory capacity.

For internal storage, there are 3 models of 16, 32 and 64 GB to store all your files. The storage can be expandable to 128 GB with an external microSD card.

The battery too is quite impressive; coming in at 3000 mAh. That is a lot of juice to power the phone. With that kind of capacity, it is safe to say one can go a whole day without a need to recharge the phone. And the problem of how long it might take to charge such a huge battery has being solved by the inclusion of TurboPower Charging feature in the Moto X Style. Motorolla claims it is the fastest phone charging technology in the market. Let’s hope it is not just a sales pitch.

moto x styleVerdict: in a market glutted with good smartphones trying to out-do each other by giving us top-notch specs at a reasonably low price, the Moto X Style is surely one of the best. What else can customers want from a phone that has a big screen, a good camera, and an all day battery? Not much else really.
