I’m sure you must have one way or the other come across Zoto, an app that allows you to recharge your phone on the go. Zoto is Nigeria’s fastest mobile phone recharge app, and if these reports are to be taken any more serious, it is now being used by over one million users.
Zoto was launched in 2015 and enables users to recharge their phone directly from their bank account. This can be done by inputting card details on the app, and save them to prevent a repeat of the process when one wants to carry out a recharge again.
Last year, the app has always been showing very positive signs as it reached 350,000 downloads on the Google Play Store, had a 4.5 star rating on the Store, and was growing at 100% month on month. What other stats do you need to show you that an app has the prospects to break downloads or users records.
This latest milestone further cements Zoto’s place at the top of the airtime recharge segment in Nigeria, where physical scratch recharge cards and USSD short codes are prevalent. I do not see any viable competitor for Zoto in this market.
“We are celebrating with you for sticking with us; this past year has been one of delightful milestones. Zoto was the number one shopping app on playstore, averaging a 4.6 approval rating and now, one million users,” Zoto stated.
Zoto has not forgotten their users in this celebration as they were the ones who made it possible in the first place. Therefore, to be a beneficiary of the N500 which they are gifting their users to mark the celebration, all you need to do is to download the latest version of the application which is readily available for android and iOS devices.
To be more candid now, I really think Zoto needs a competitor in this market, to keep them on their toes. Monopoly isn’t good for any business environment especially for the users too. So, if you are looking for a startup idea, a mobile recharge app might just be the way to go. Just remember to be more creative.
