Microsoft.

Microsoft Technology corporation that focuses on the development and implementation of software used on computers and on the World Wide Web is said to recently have started working on the design and creation of a foldable tablet smart device. A report coming from Windows Central state that searches into the internal projects at Microsoft pointed to multiple references of “Andromeda” which is speculated by some to be a hardware prototype in a way.

The intended device is expected to be a foldable tablet with possibility of being pocketed. It is intended to run on Windows Core Operating System, along with Cshell to make the best out of its foldable display according to Windows Central.

Regarding the display, it’s not clear if the real panel is planned to be flexible too or if that two or so separate screens will be put together through a kind of hinge mechanism that will hide and expand the available real estate and when folded it will be pocket size fit.

The Microsoft device series referred to as surface devices have nearly most times been advertised as machines with the ability to a lot more than one thing and ensuring to go beyond the popular and regular laptops or tablet, siting examples like the original Surface Pro which was known as “the tablet that can take the place of a laptop”.

Andromeda is expected to be a new defining class explaining a two in one (2-in-1) device or better still a tablet that can double as a phone even though Windows Central says Microsoft will most likely not bill Andromeda as a direct Phone replacement in avoidance of competition with Android and iPhone but to have it designed and created with phone capabilities so it will technically work as a phone.

The high point of the smart device other its mutable design is the tipped to be pen and ink support which should be more reasonable as Microsoft already provides a platform with Windows link and has back support knowledge in building styluses for Windows 10 with the various iterations of its Surface Pen.

A special and dedicated notebook App probably still in making will put together One Note and turn out to be a main feature of Andromeda.

Since the device is to run on ARM chips and not Intel processors this translates to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon systems-on-a-chip (SoC) is more likely to be the preffered pick for Andromeda’s main components. Also these SoCs already power the large majority of smartphone and mobile device on the market, making the Universal Windows Apps such Microsoft’s Edge browser or Microsoft’s Photo App, the focus of Andromeda’s software and more so the concept that this is an ultra-portable piece of hardware that supports windows32 applications is yet to be verified for now.

For now the closet semblance to Andromeda is the recently launched ZTE Axon M or Microsoft’s own “Courier” which is an almost decade long project that is targeted to bring forth a duo screen tablet device in the likes of a digital book.
