jiji.ng website

I love everything about tech. Sourcing tech review sites, Tech news sites and post them in my own very styles is my job at TechProducts

Jiji.ng is buyer and seller market that was founded by some group of Russian investors, If am not wrong, I guess the owner of Naij.com also own jiji.ng, the online news media that have taken over virtually every aspect of Nigeria media with the help of advertisement and amazing SEO. Believe me, I am still amaze with the success of Naij.com in that short period of time. Back to business, Jiji, according to the team is a place where real people who wants to sell meet real people who want to buy. To put in their own word, jiji.ng ‘Sellers can post free ads with pictures, update their ads and get replies from “real” people while buyers can buy anything, call or send messages to sellers and leave a review when the deal has been accomplished’

Many sites like Jiji.ng have sprung up from different corners in Nigeria, what to call is gives me alot of problem, should I call it one of the Nigerian startup, a website or an online service provider for selected niche. Of course site many site like Jiji.ng have come in and go in recent times. My advise to people is that while dealing in these different ways, users should be careful how they trade their money for a service.

For now, I do doubt it if Jiji itself collect any fee for posting ads, but dealing with users like you in Nigeria on a website that is not being monitored of what different users pass to each other by admin, you are meant to protect your interest.

Here we have TechCabal reviewing the site in 2015

According to an excerpt from their website: “Sellers can post free ads with pictures, update their ads and get replies from “real” people while buyers can buy anything, call or send messages to sellers and leave a review when the deal has been accomplished”.

A visit to the site unveils a bring-it-on impression, as the services they offer virtually cuts across every human endeavour; okay, maybe not all. But, I’m still trying to wrap my head around their slogan “The best place to sell anything to real people”, guess you don’t want to go there if you’re not…real.

Information from their website reveal the services they offer, which potential clients may find useful, includes electronics, real estate, fashion, vehicles, animals and pets etc.

There seems to be no end to the number of online businesses (either still functioning or gone into oblivion) creeping out from every nook and cranny of cyberspace. There’s Tradestable (which was just acquired by OLX), VConnect, MoboFree, CadaNaija,Locanto, 123Nigeria etc.

I sense that there is a Russian investor interest here, as Jiji is registered to a name suggestive of someone from that region –as revealed by the whoisdomain search. Naij.com (another classified site, owned by a group of Russian content farmers) have a link on their website that directs you to Jiji.ng.

Also, OLX just made a consolidatory move and bought out the competition. Now Jiji appears.
