iTel S31 price in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana specs and review

Writer and Social entrepreneur.

When you’re talking low end smartphones or phones generally, which are pocket friendly, then I’m pretty sure you’re talking Itel. They have also not disappointed us – their users actually – in this regard as they have always loved up to their selling point of low price to value system.

But then, one thing different about this newly launched phone is how low the price is to the value. You’ll get what is my saying in a moment. The Itel S31 is a successor to the selfie-focused iTel S11. Also, they possess a lot of similar specs but with very little differences in certain features.

Just stay while we walk through the specs together.

Firstoff, I am very disappointed by the fact that the iTel S31 does not support the 4G network. I mean, this is a period where there is rapid and high porting of smartphone users who do not want to be stuck with the 3G while others are moving, but iTel has decided to create a phone meant for the past rather than the future.

They sure don’t need a soothsayer to tell them that a 4G network enabled phone would sure be a plus to them this period.

Moving forward, it runs on an Android Operating system 6.0 Marshmallow and the screen measures 5.5 inches with a 1280 * 720 pixels (HD). The body was built with a metal aluminum design.

The iTel S31 comes with an unnamed quad core processor with a speed of 1.3GHz. RAM is 1 GB, which in my honest opinion is quite poor but the internal storage is 16 GB which can be expanded with the use of a micro SD card to the capacity of 32 GB.

Sensors available include Accelerometer, Light & Proximity Sensor. It would be laughable if you even think we should go there ( fingerprint sensor).

The iTel S31 has not joined the gang that has been discriminating against selfie lovers as they have pegged both the rear and the front facing camera at just 5 MP. Actually, I would say I am not at all surprised at the camera quality, because if there’s one place iTel sucks, its camera. So there you have it…

The iTel S31 has a Bluetooth of v4.0 while it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and GPS with A-GPS. It has a micro-USB v2.0. It surely has the 3.5 mm audio jack as expected.

Now, to the second most important thing I regard after the price of a smartphone, the iTel S31 boasts of 2400 mAh battery capacity. Far below the minimum standard I have set for some phones and since this is coming from iTel, i might not be surprised than say they need to improve.

It is a removable battery which does not support fast charge while its Power Management is by Marshmallow’s Battery Saving mode.

Also to the most important of all, the iTel S31 would be sold for ₦28,000 on Nigeria, KSh. 6436 in Kenya, GH₵ 267 in Ghana and $62 in USA.

To me, this is a very fair price and one of the lowest you could get for a phone with these specs. iTel has never disappointed us in this case.
