The Tecno Phantom 6 Plus was released back in September alongside the Phantom 6which were the 2016 flagship smartphones from Tecno Mobile, and these proved to be the best pair of devices the company has made so far. The new Phantom 6 plus is the 4th generation smartphone from Tecno following the 3rd generation Phantom 5. The Phantom 6 Plus features a few upgrades including; an overall new design, larger RAM, stronger battery and a triple security system.

Display & Design
When it comes to display and design, there’s no clear-cut winner as both of them feature 6-inch large displays. The Tecno Phantom 6 Plus is equipped with an incredibly slim body design with a 5 layer full metal body. It sports a 5.95-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 * 1920 (FHD) and 370 pixels per inch (PPI) density with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Winner (Display & Design): TIE
Performance & Storage
In terms of their performance, both smartphones also pack almost the same hardware under the hood. The Phantom 6 plus packs a 2.0 GHz 64-bit Deca-core MediaTek processor with Helio X205 (MT6797M) Chipset and it runs on Mali T-880 GPU. It also saves battery by 30%, despite its high performance.
On the other hand, the Infinix Zero 4 Plus also packs 2.1GHz Dual-core, 1.4GHz quad-core, 1.85GHz quad-core (MediaTek Helio X20 MT6797) Mali-T880 GPU.
In terms of storage, the Phantom 6 Plus has an edge over the Infinix Zero 4 Plus. The Phantom 6 Plus has a 4GB RAM for effective multitasking and 64GB ROM for data storage. It has an external SD card slot of up to 128GB, the Phantom 6 Plus comes with a micro SD dedicated slot (uses SIM 2 slot) for memory expansion. While the Infinix Zero 4 Plus also packs 4GB of RAM, it has a lesser 32GB built-in storage capacity with a dedicated slot for memory card through which an additional 128GB storage can be added.
In terms of camera, the Phantom 6 Plus comes with a 21MP SONY rear camera capturing award-worthy 80 MP Fusion images and an 8MP front camera with LED flash, while the Infinix Zero 4 Plus comes with a 20.7 MP Camera which has an f/2.0 aperture, Laser Autofocus, Dual LED Flash, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and a 13MP front Camera with LED Flash and f/2.2 aperture.
For me, the Infinix Zero 4 Plus offers a better camera option, and this is why. While the Phantom 6 Plus’ rear camera has more pixels, it is only an infinitesimal amount. The rear camera module of the Zero 4 Plus is protruded, which may add to its capturing abilities. Also, the front camera is better specced than that on the Phantom 6 Plus.
Winner (Camera): Infinix Zero 4 Plus
Battery & Charging
In terms of power, both phones offer the same battery capacity. The Phantom 6 Plus comes with a 4050mAh non-removable battery with rapid charge and the Infinix Zero 4 Plus also has a 4000 mAh non-removable battery that comes with a fast charging (Xcharge PE+ 2.0) feature.
Winner (Battery & Charging): TIE
Both smartphones support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. The Phantom 6 Plus sports the USB Type-C port which gives it USB OTG support, similar to what we have on the Zero 4 Plus. Both do not have NFC, so they tie in terms of connectivity.
Software & Hardware
The two smartphones run on the Android 6.0 Operating System and both of them have customized operating systems that come with themes, wallpapers and skins. The Phantom 6 Plus comes along with HiOS (Tecno’s custom UI) while the Infinix Zero 4 Plus comes with XOS Chameleon Skin.
On the hardware side, the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus comes with a very reliable fingerprint recognition technology and an iris scanner while the Infinix Zero 4 Plus comes with only a fingerprint sensor. So, the Phantom 6 Plus wins it for me. It gives me an additional option of phone protection.
