Google Nexus 6

GOOD NEWS to all Nexus 6 users. The Nexus 6, although got the Android 7.0 Nougat in October 2016, will be getting the newer Android 7.1.1 – but not this year Information reaching TechProducts is that the Google Nexus 6 will be receiving the newer Android 7.1.1 update come January 2017.

According to Android Police, “Google wanted to update the Nexus 6 to Android 7.1.1 Nougat this month – at the same time with other Nexus models – but found a “last minute bug.” While Google fixed the problem, it’s not yet ready to release the 7.1.1 update, instead scheduling it for an over-the-air roll out beginning early January”.

It is also worthy of note that the Motorola-made Google Nexus 6 is the oldest smartphone that’s still receiving software updates from Google, for over 2 years… and still counting!
