In terms of searching the web through the internet, Faster internet connection is always better and easier be it work or recreation. Efficient and quick information access is top necessity. About  Forty percent (40%) of Android device users encounter slow or delayed connection while they are on the web as a result of slow Random Access Memory (RAM) devices.

Google now is introducing the GooglewebLight a new feature with the ability to help you get the information you are searching Quicker, with ease and at a more affordable cost. For the most part of Africa when you search on Google with a low RAM device via the Google App, Chrome or Android browser, web pages that you access from Google’s search results page will be optimized to come up faster and consume less data.

Basically Google now shows faster, lighter pages to people searching on slow mobile connections in selected countries. It is achieved by transcoding (convert) web pages on the fly into a version optimized for slow networks, so that these pages load faster while saving data. These optimized pages preserve a majority of the relevant content and provide a link for users to view the original page.

Mean while analyses indicate that these optimized pages load four times faster and use up to eighty percent (80%) less data and traffic to web pages through Google search have also increased by up to Forty percent (40%), although if you will prefer to see the original page, you can choose that option at the top of your page. Also noted that this feature is already available in Indonesia, India and Brazil.

Google hopes that this feature can and will help better the search experience for millions of people across Africa with access to poor network connections and have limited devices. Google hails them “Search On” with the new improved feature.
