This makes Glo only the third mobile network in Nigeria to activate 4G LTE, after nTel and MTN.

Report has it that the 4G LTE services was indeed live but only available in nine cities across Nigeria; Lagos, Abuja, PHC, Benin, Eket, Jos, Warri, Yola and Zaria. It said other cities would follow suit in the nearest future.

Rumors are already flying that Etisalat is the next on line to launch. But what else can we do than to wait and see how things would unfold.

4G is the fourth generation of wireless mobile telecommunications technology, succeeding 3G. A 4G system must provide capabilities defined by ITU in IMT Advanced. Potential and current applications include amended mobile webaccess, IP telephony, gaming services, high-definition mobile TV, video conferencing, 3D television.
