Iyin Aboyeji, the CEO of Flutterwave has been handpicked by the acting president of the country to advise Nigerian presidency on industrial policies. This he would do through a council inaugurated by Professor Yemi Osinbajo called the Nigerian Industrial Policy and Competitiveness Advisory Council yesterday at the presidential villa in Abuja.

The council, which will be chaired by Yemi Osinbajo himself, consists of 35 representatives of the public and private sectors including Flutterwave CEO Iyinoluwa Aboyeji and CEO of Jumia Nigeria Juliet Amamah, which implies that tech startups and companies are now beginning to gain the proper recognition they deserve, unlike before.

The function of the council would revolve round formulating and monitoring of policies to accelerate Nigeria’s industrialization bid. What else could help the industrialization of Nigeria of not technology?

Iyinoluwa Aboyeji was one of the co-founders Andela, a company he later exited to co-found Flutterwave, a payments solution company. Also worthy of note is how influential he is in the Nigerian tech ecosystem.

Other members of the council also include President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Abdulsamad Rabiu, the president of BUA group. There are many other members which includes big players in both the public and private sector.
